Joining The League

You know that one show that every one of your friends recommends you watch? The one that is so “made for you” that you can’t help but love? You know it’s perfect for you, but you hold off until you can actually commit to the series. Well, I finally did it: I started watching the one show that everyone has told me to try.

The League.

I mean this next sentence with no exaggeration: within the first five minutes of watching The League, I was hooked.

Of course the premise of the show is catered directly to me – a group of friends that love fantasy football – but the show itself is excellent. Between the humor, characters, and actual life that surrounds the fantasy football league, FX has hit a home run.

In fact, The League is the first show I’ve ever even watched on FX, and I was so happy with it that I Googled to make sure the series hasn’t been cancelled – it hasn’t.

As for the first episode itself: hysterical. I cracked up when the guy is trying to rip the kid’s Manning jersey off him in the bedroom, and I loved the song Taco played to the little girl for her birthday. Overall, a great start to my League experience.

So I’m only one episode in, but I can’t wait to catch up with this series. I already texted Tina telling her that this will be our new show to fly through (judging by the first episode, I think she’ll like it, but who knows?) and I’m looking forward to seeing how the show operates during the football season.

For now, a big thank you to everyone who insisted I watch The League: Greg, Dan, Jimmy, Fitz, to name a few. You were all right, I owe you for this show, and I’m lucky that you guys kept on me until I finally gave it a shot. Now, on to Episode Two!
